The second session of the ENTRANT Techno Talks was organized by Tech Park Varaždin and focused on cutting-edge innovation in healthcare. Dr. Ivan Lorencin, Assistant Professor and co-founder of dAIgnostics, delivered a compelling presentation on AI-driven diagnostics for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. His talk highlighted how the integration of biophysics and artificial intelligence can address the persistent challenge of late diagnosis.
During the webinar, participants learned about the interdisciplinary team behind the initiative, ongoing research supported by significant grant funding, and the development of a new diagnostics laboratory at the University Biocenter in Zagreb. The discussion also addressed regulatory considerations, the importance of human verification in AI systems, and the cautious but necessary adoption of emerging technologies in medicine. The session demonstrated how innovation can generate measurable social and economic impact, improving patient outcomes while reducing long-term healthcare costs.
