Building Digital Entrepreneurship Excellence through Innovative Training Programs

The ENTRANT project has achieved a significant milestone with the successful development of Work Package 2 (WP2), a comprehensive digital entrepreneurship training ecosystem designed to transform business incubation capabilities across Europe.

This initiative represents a strategic collaboration between Bursa Technical University (BTU) and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), focusing on equipping entrepreneurs and incubation centers with cutting-edge digital competencies through meticulously crafted educational modules.

Innovative Module Framework and Educational Structure

The WP2 program delivers a robust curriculum comprising ten specialized modules that follow a carefully designed pedagogical approach. Each module incorporates multiple learning methodologies to maximize engagement and skills transfer: “Our module design ensures that participants receive not just theoretical knowledge but build practical skills through interactive application,” notes the ENTRANT WP2 coordinator- BTU. “The step-by-step learning journey creates meaningful educational experiences that translate directly to business success.”

Each module follows a consistent educational framework:

Introduction: Engaging 1-2 minute videos or concise text explaining learning objectives and motivation

Discussion Forums: Interactive spaces for knowledge exchange and community building

3-5 Specialized Activities: Each containing 2-5 actionable steps incorporating diverse multimedia learning materials

Interactive Assessment: Modern evaluation methods ensuring skills acquisition

Closure and Preview: Summarizing achievements and preparing learners for subsequent modules

Cross-Border Workshop Implementation

A distinguishing feature of the WP2 initiative is its international workshop series, strategically conducted across four European countries to facilitate cross-cultural knowledge exchange and hands-on application:

1.Denmark Workshop: Focused on Module 2, developing core entrepreneurial capabilities with Nordic innovation perspectives

2.Romania Workshop: Implementing Modules 4-6, connecting e-commerce with sustainability practices

3.Croatia Workshop: Emphasizing Modules 5-6, exploring Mediterranean approaches to green management and entrepreneurial sustainability

4.Turkey Workshop: Presenting Modules 8-10, integrating logistics planning with strategic management and leadership

Sustainable Impact and Future Directions

The educational resources developed under WP2 represent a significant contribution to the European entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program addresses critical skill gaps in digital business development, particularly for incubation centers seeking to enhance their support offerings.

“These modules create pathways for entrepreneurs to navigate the increasingly digital business landscape,” explains the project lead. “By combining theoretical frameworks with practical digital tools, we’re enabling businesses to test concepts, analyze markets, and implement strategies with greater confidence and success rates.”

June 2025— Magurele Science Park at Science2Business Event

At the Science2Business: Innovation Partnerships, an event designed to encourage collaboration between research and the business sector. Through presentations of research and development outcomes, a panel dedicated to communication, and open discussions, participants explored together how research results can be transformed into market-ready solutions.

At this event organized by Măgurele Science Park Association, Mădălin Ioniță presented the concrete benefits Entrant Project offers to support innovation collaborations and highlighted the advantages available to active members within the project. The audience included both researchers and entrepreneurs, making it a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and driving sustainable innovation.

The completion of Work Package (WP)2 simultaneously signals the kick-off of WP3 for which NOVI is responsible. At the Transnational Partnership Meeting 2 hosted by us in Aalborg we presented a framework for the training program, a secondary e-learning course.

The framework, based on the initial ENTRANT idea, was well received and can be seen below:

The key difference between the e-learning course in WP2 vs WP3 is that WP3 is largely case-based. In Module (M)2 you conduct an analysis of your own business and choose an export target, based on your position. With that export target as the focus, you go through each module and determine what the best strategy is for you within each module headline.

Ideally, you produce a structured export strategy with ideas and considerations allowing you to go out and start exporting.

All modules are supported and enhanced through discussion with mentors, allowing incubates to receive feedback and to sharpen their export strategy. Additionally, incubates live within the ENTRANT ecosystem and as such can discuss with other members of the program and engage in peer learning.

ENTRANT project partners distributed work on the WP3 modules between themselves, and NOVI has started work on M1, M5 and M7. NOVI has recruited the help of a Danish export expert, Jens Lassen, and work on the content is progressing steadily.

We’re following in the shoes of WP2 by utilizing videos to bolster user engagement with shorter videos and follow a natural structure:

A note on mentorship

At NOVI, experience shows that mentorship can be one of THE most beneficial things for a company. It is an efficient direct knowledge-transfer and serves to accelerate the learners’ path to expertise, both for founders and new employees. Set a clear goal for the mentorship and give the relationship a bit of structure, defining meeting frequency, duration, overall format and nature of the meetings (coffee meeting soften vs. longer meetings). Once you find something that works, build a template, BUT be ready to modify it, because the next mentorship pairing might have different needs.

The digital side of mentorship

We’re more digital than ever before but the research is split on whether digital is as good as in-person mentoring. The flexibility, timewise and geographically, of digital mentorship is its greatest strength Both “Water cooler”/Coffee meetings and structured meetings can be held online with screen- and file-sharing. The tools are there, but the habits are not. The largest barrier reported to us is the “mental energy” needed to schedule and start a video call vs knocking on a door or chatting at the coffee machine. If we can lower that barrier, digital mentorship may flourish.

NOVI is experimenting with 3 easy steps:
